When I planned this project in 2007, I knew very well that the golf industry is declining and did not particularly have an ambition to manage a golf resort. However, I was captivated by the scenery of the site after making a casual visit and could not erase it off my mind. It was the poet who threw himself into the water, intoxicated with the beauty of the reflection of the moon on the water.

And we thought about it.
We were already mesmerized by it at a glance and made the decision without a regret, and we were old enough and at an age when it would be meaningful to create something, a piece of artwork that could enhance the image of Korea, and give it to the world. We concentrated on creating a masterpiece of the world.

I heard thousands of people telling me that it would be foolish to invest in golf resort business because the business did not seem to have bright future, but my response was simple. They say “Tigers leave only their skins when they die, but through his achievements a man’s name lives on.” Since I cannot take everything from this world to the other world, I decided to leave South Cape to the world as an artwork and aimed for perfection instead of economics

I cannot predict how my work of turning the golf resort into a piece of art would turn out, particularly in terms of business, but I was more or less relieved to hear Joann Dost, the world’s top class professional photographer specializing in golf courses and the member of the committee for determining the world’s top 100 golf courses such as Pebble Beach, visiting South Cape for photographing and saying that there are not many places among the world’s top 10 golf courses that can be ranked with South Cape and the outstanding facilities that are exquisitely incorporated into the gift of nature such as the Club House and Hotel as well as the Music Library are monumental in the history of the world’s resort architecture when I asked whether South Cape would become one of the world’s top 10 golf courses.

The chief editor of a central daily paper visited South Cape and said it is “Well Born, Well Made”, and I would say the world’s best golf resort is provided by God, created by the Mother Nature, and presented by artists.
